The Mountain (2006)
The spirit of challenge embodied in a mountain that is yet to be climbed is the influence for this work. As the piece starts out, the climb is depicted with angular melodies in Rising. Amidst the Clouds consists of ethereal harmonies inspired by Vaughan Williams. The work ends with the spirited On High, a celebratory movement of triumph and achievement.
